I’ll Never Allow Myself To Be Used As Click Bait – Ireti Doyle Finally Speaks About Her Divorce (Video)

Veteran Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle has finally opened up about her divorce from her ex-husband, Patrick Doyle.

This comes years after the celebrity couple’s divorce.

Recall that the actress announced their divorce during an interview in January 2023, without disclosing details.

Despite fans and media attention, the couple have maintained a professional relationship on screen.

However, addressing the subject during her latest interview with Morayo Brown, Ireti stated that ending her marriage was painful.

Speaking for the first time about her failed marriage, Ireti stated that her decision to remain silent was because “it is none of the public’s business”.

While noting that her family and few friends are the only people she owes explanation, Ireti vowed never to allow herself to be used as a click bait in the media.

“First of all you didn’t hear anything because it is none of your business. Two people come together to get married, there’s a celebration. Sadly, unfortunately something went wrong and you could no longer continue the life journey together.

“The only people you owe explanation to at all, are those family and friends that gathered on day one. You see this larger audience that you are performing for, they do not care. God forbid because I will never knowingly give myself up as a click bait. The end of any relationship talks less of long time marriage is painful”, she said.

I’m The Happiest Man On Earth, I Don’t Miss My Ex – Carter Efe Declares

Popular streamer Carter Efe has explained his decision to remain single following his past relationship with his baby mama, Emmanuella, with whom he has a daughter.

During a livestream on Twitch, Efe described that time as mentally and emotionally exhausting, affecting how he lived and worked.

He explained that being single allows him to enjoy freedom on his live streams without anyone questioning his actions.

In the past, his interactions and choices online were closely monitored, and he often faced complaints about even minor things.

Now, he feels unrestricted and able to make his own decisions without interference.

He also addressed the idea of moving on from his ex, saying that he is not missing his former partner at all.

Instead, he jokingly added that what he misses is financial gain, showing that he is focused on enjoying life and his own independence.

He said: “I am single now and can do anything I want on live stream. Before, if I did anything on live stream, they would call me and ask why I did this or why I followed a girl. I will be single forever.

“Before, when I was in a relationship, if I talked to any girl, she would assume I already slept with them. See how my life is sweet like this? I am the happiest man on earth now and can even go anywhere freely. God forbid I miss her. I miss money.”

Who Do You Think You Are? – Nkechi Blessing Drags Actors For Not Promoting Her Movies Despite Being Well Paid

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has expressed frustration with some actors who, despite being well paid for their roles, fail to promote the films they appear in.

She shared her thoughts on Instagram, addressing colleagues who demand high fees to star in her movies but do not support the projects once they are released.

Nkechi Blessing explained that while she respects actors charging their worth, problems arise when the film comes out, and they act as if they worked for free, refusing to promote the movie on their platforms.

She warned that such behaviour can lead to serious disputes.

Nkechi made it clear that she expects actors to contribute to a film’s visibility after being paid, adding that neglecting this responsibility is unacceptable.

She wrote: “I am not saying you should not charge 3 million naira to be in my movie, oh yes charge your worth.. But you see where me and you go get problem?

“Na when film come out you act like say na free you come work!!!! to even post movie for your page so your fans can watch, na war… Me and you go reach police station.. So better avoid my money now to avoid stories that touch.

“I no Dey pluck money from tree.. you cannot promote a movie you were paid heavily for, uncle/sister GTFO…. Who do you even think you are?”

Blackout: Nigeria Running On Generators 130 Years After — Dino Melaye Blasts FG

Former Kogi West senator Dino Melaye has raised concerns about Nigeria’s electricity sector, saying the country’s persistent power challenges stem from poor governance rather than purely technical shortcomings.

In a statement he posted on X, Melaye said that even though Nigeria has been producing electricity for more than a century, the country still has low power output and often faces power outages.

“Nigeria has been generating electricity since 1896. That’s 130 years. Today, in March 2026, the national grid just dropped to 3,940 megawatts. For 220 million people,” he said.

He looked at how Nigeria did compared to other African countries and pointed out big differences, noting that South Africa produces more than 48,000 megawatts of electricity to power 60 million people.

“Egypt has around 11,000 MW installed capacity for 110 million. Nigeria? About 13,000MW installed. On a good day, we can only move about 4,000 to 5,000MW through the grid. The rest just sits there. Wasted,” he added.

Melaye also mentioned that there have been many instances of the power grid failing and difficulties with the infrastructure in the sector.

“The grid collapsed 12 times in 2024 alone. In the same year, 128 transmission towers were damaged by vandals,” he said.

He said the government used N8.8 billion just to fix them, while further citing data from the Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC), highlighting ongoing instability.

“From 2010 up until 2022, NERC noted at least 222 instances where parts of the power grid either partially or completely stopped working. He said that’s about one every three weeks for 12 years in a row. He said that bringing key power plants back online after a collapse is very expensive. Every time the power grid fails, it costs Nigeria around $25 million to restart just three power plants: Azura, Delta, and Shiroro. That’s N42.5 billion. Per collapse. For just three plants,” he said.

Melaye also pointed to mounting debts in the power sector.

“As of February 2026, the power sector owes generation companies a total of N6.8 trillion. Growing by N200 billion every single month. By the end of March, it will reach N7 trillion.

“In 2023, 767 manufacturing companies shut down. 335 more became distressed. 18,000 jobs gone. In the first half of 2025, manufacturers spent N676.6 billion on backup power, but they still couldn’t cover all their needs. Another 18,935 jobs lost,” he said.

“The World Bank estimates economic losses caused by power outages. The World Bank says that power cuts in Nigeria cost the country about $29 billion each year. That’s about 10% of GDP. Every year,” he added.

He also stated that actress Iyabo Ojo who supported his imprisonment once entrusted her kids, Priscilla and Festus in his custody.

“I thought he would apologise but he did not do so. But it’s not in my place to condemn him. My platform is for the good and the bad, it’s for both Saint and the sinners. The platform is not for only the people that you like alone. I’m a mother, a Christian and I’m also a rape victim.

”So, I will never enable anybody. The interview was not to exonerate Baba Ijesha, to agree with whatever he was saying or for him to come and claim innocent on my show. And a lot of people are insinuating that the video is to tarnish Iyabo Ojo’s image. I will never do that”, she said.

Benin Palace Denies Approving Peller’s Visit

The Benin Traditional Council has maintained that popular streamer Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, widely known as Peller, was not granted approval to visit the Palace of the Oba of Benin.

The council stated this on Tuesday while reacting to claims by Peller and his management regarding the controversial visit.

In a statement, the Secretary of the council, Frank Irabor, said the submission and acknowledgement of a request letter does not amount to official permission.

Irabor said, “The attention of the Benin Traditional Council has been drawn to recent public reactions following its press release concerning the abominable and unauthorised visit to the Palace of the Oba of Benin by Habeeb Hamzat Adelaja, popularly known as ‘Peller,’ and his manager.

“Ordinarily, the Benin tradition would not warrant further engagement on such matters.

“However, given the level of misinformation and ignorance displayed by Peller and his manager, it has become necessary to set the record straight.”

Irabor explained that standard administrative procedures require explicit authorisation before any visit or activity can be considered approved.

He further stated, “It is a well-known principle in any formal establishment that the submission of a letter of request, and the mere stamping or acknowledgement of such a letter, does not constitute approval.

“These are standard institutional protocols and administrative procedures.

“For the avoidance of doubt, the Benin Traditional Council reiterates that the receipt and stamping of any correspondence by its secretariat only serve as acknowledgement of receipt and do not, in any way, imply approval by His Royal Majesty or the Benin Traditional Council.”

He added that in the absence of clear authorisation, no visit to the palace is deemed sanctioned.

The council also asked Peller and his manager to clarify publicly whether they obtained any written approval for the visit.

It further questioned whether their request letter disclosed any intention to visit the Iloi (Queens) in the palace. Irabor said the issue is currently undergoing internal disciplinary proceedings.

He said, “As previously communicated, matters arising from the unauthorised visit are currently undergoing disciplinary proceedings.

“Peller has been invited to the Palace of the Oba of Benin, and the council will not be drawn into public discourse on issues already being addressed through the appropriate internal channels.”

The council reiterated its commitment to preserving the customs and sanctity of the Benin Royal Palace.

“The Benin Traditional Council remains resolute in upholding the customs, traditions, and sanctity of the Benin Royal Palace,” the statement added.
