Nollywood Actress, Angela Okorie Allegedly Re-Arrested Over Alleged Refusal To Pay Lawyer Who Secured Her Bail (Video)

Angela Okorie, the Nigerian actress, has reportedly been re-arrested over allegations that she refused to pay the lawyer who secured her bail from Suleja Prison.

Angela was re-arrested at the Suleja prison on Tuesday, immediately she was released on bail.

This came less than an hour after actor Stanley Ontop raised the alarm over an alleged plan to re-arrest the actress after release on Tuesday.

Speaking in a video on Instagram, actress Doris Ogala who said she is already on her way to the police station, stated that the actress was re-arrested by an unnamed Senior Advocate of Nigeria, SAN, for refusing to pay the N5 million agreed fee to secure her bail.

Doris said; “You see, one thing is for someone to cut their clothes according to their size. Angela has been arrested again. As a matter of fact, I’m going to the police station now. You see, when Angela was arrested by Mercy, she called a friend of her or village person. I don’t know how they relate. To help her get a SAN.

“And the SAN charged them N5 million. I think the SAN was the one who even facilitated the bail and all that. Now when Angela knew that they have granted her bail according to the lady, Angela started saying that she didn’t ask her to get a SAN and she wasn’t going to pay the money, and meanwhile this lady has deposited.”

Recall that Angela, who was granted bail on Friday after her arrest by Mercy Johnson over alleged defamation, regained her freedom few minutes ago after perfecting her bail conditions.

Mikel Obi Reveals How Premier League Rule Prevented Manchester United From Signing Him (Video)

Former Super Eagles captain John Obi Mikel has revealed that a Premier League regulation prevented Manchester United from finalizing his signing, even though a pre-contract agreement had been agreed.

Mikel had been expected to join the Red Devils after turning 18, but the move failed to materialise due to a league rule requiring foreign players to have featured in at least 75 per cent of their country’s senior national team matches.

Speaking to Sky Sports, the former Chelsea midfielder said then-manager Sir Alex Ferguson was fully committed to bringing him to Old Trafford.

“Fergie loved me. He would always pair me with Roy Keane because he thought Keane would protect me from the likes of Paul Scholes and Nicky Butt, who were always tackling people in training,” Mikel said.

He explained that the Premier League rule ultimately blocked the transfer.

“At the time, the rule required players to have represented their national team in at least 75 per cent of matches before being eligible to sign,” he stated.

Mikel added that United explored alternative strategies to secure his services before his 18th birthday, but those plans failed.

“The strategy was to get me in and out before I turned 18, but that wasn’t possible in my case,” he explained.

The midfielder eventually joined Chelsea in 2006 at the age of 19, where he went on to enjoy a highly successful spell at Stamford Bridge. During nearly 11 years with the Blues, Mikel made 372 appearances and scored six goals, becoming one of the club’s most dependable midfielders.

How Nigerian Artists Can Improve Their Chances Of Winning Grammys – DJ Big N

Nonso Temisan Ajufo, the Mavin Records DJ, who is popularly known as DJ Big N, has urged Nigerian artists to take steps to boost their chances of winning at the Grammy Awards.

Recall that Nigerian singers Davido,  Burna Boy, Ayra Starr, Omah Lay, and Wizkid lost to South African star Tyla in the Best African Music Performance category at the 68th Annual Grammy Awards on Sunday.

Reacting via his X page on Monday, DJ Big N claimed that the poor outing for Nigerian musicians at the Grammy’s was due to their lack of involvement in American music seminars and events.

He urged them to emulate multiple Grammy-winning Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo by participating in American music events more and getting involved in the Grammy decision-making process.

He wrote, “It stings deeply that so many talented Nigerians were nominated but didn’t bring the Grammy home this time. But here’s the truth, Legends like @angeliquekidjo and @YoussouNdourSN have shown us the power of being involved beyond just the award night.

“She [Kidjo] is at those seminars, those events, making her presence felt. If we want to change the game, we’ve got to do the same. Let’s step up, join the @RecordingAcad voting body and be part of the process all year long. That’s how we truly make our mark. Better luck next year, but let’s also be there to shape it.”
