It’s So Painful – Nigerian Singer, Seyi Shay Reveals Why She And Tiwa Savage Stopped Talking To Each Other

Popular Nigerian singer, Seyi Shay has revealed the reason behind her long-standing feud with fellow artiste Tiwa Savage.

The Yolo crooner said their friendship ended because of an affair between her former personal assistant and Tiwa’s ex-husband, TeeBillz.

Seyi made the revelation while speaking on the OffAir Show, explaining that she had been unaware of the cause of their rift for years until she reconnected with the former staff member.

She said the woman approached her years later to apologise, admitting that she once had a romantic relationship with Tiwa Savage’s husband while she was still working with Seyi.

According to Seyi, she had no idea about the affair at the time and was shocked to learn that it may have been the reason Tiwa ended their friendship.

She said the discovery was painful because they had shared a close bond and worked together often, not knowing that Tiwa probably believed she was aware of what was going on.

She said, “I honestly didn’t know why Tiwa and I stopped talking to each other. A young lady I hired as a PA back when Didi was still managing me… after the whole salon experience, I moved to London to have my daughter.

“I saw this girl at the club, someone I had not seen in about seven years. She hit me up on Instagram, we met for lunch, and she said, ‘I saw what happened and I’m really sorry. It is very detrimental to your career, and I feel like I’m the cause of it.

“To cut a long story short, it turns out the girl was having a relationship with my girl’s husband, and I didn’t even know. She told me all of that. It must have been true; I don’t think she would say all of that as a joke.

“When she told me this, I was disgusted because we were rolling together and doing things together, meanwhile, Tiwa probably thought I knew about it. You can just imagine the anger. It’s so painful. If that was me, I would have done worse.”

We’ve Not Been Served Court Order Stopping Enforcement Of Tinted Glass Permit – Police

The Nigeria Police Force has stated that it has not yet been officially served with the court order halting the enforcement of the tinted glass permit.

Recall that a Federal High Court sitting in Warri had on Friday directed the police to put the enforcement on hold and maintain the status quo.

The court urged the Force to respect ongoing judicial proceedings.

A human rights lawyer, Inibehe Effiong had posted the report on his official X handle, seizing the attention of the Force Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.

Reacting to the post, stated that the police had not yet been officially served with the court order cited by Effiong.

He, however, argued that the point number 8 of the court order which stated that Relieve 1, 2, and 3 are hereby refused is not being reported.

He wrote, “While we have not been officially served the court order you’re making reference to, let me, in the meantime, show point no. 8 (of the same order) since you left that part out and focused only on point no. 6. Nigerians deserve a complete picture, not a skewed one.”

Mohbad’s Father Demands Prosecution Of Daughter In Law, Auxiliary Nurse, Others

Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has called on the Lagos State Government to prosecute his son’s widow, Omowunmi Aloba, along with others indicted by the Coroner’s Inquest into the artist’s de@th.

The demand was contained in a petition addressed to the state’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, Lawal Pedro, SAN, and signed by Aloba’s legal counsel, Wahab Shittu SAN.

In the letter, Aloba specifically called for the prosecution of Feyisayo Ogedengbe, the auxiliary nurse who administered an injection to the singer shortly before his de@th in September 2023.

He also requested that other individuals present in Mohbad’s apartment at the time, particularly those who invited the nurse or failed to seek immediate medical help, to be brought to justice.

The petition referenced the Coroner’s verdict delivered in July 2025 by Magistrate Taofikat Shotobi, who found the nurse’s actions both “unlawful and professionally negligent”, citing her administration of injection without a doctor’s prescription.

Magistrate Shotobi further faulted Mohbad’s wife for opting to treat her husband at home rather than taking him to a medical facility.

Despite these findings, Aloba’s lawyer, Shittu expressed concern that more than two months after the Coroner’s report, the Lagos State Government has yet to initiate criminal proceedings against the indicted parties.

“Our client, as a bereaved father who seeks justice, is deeply troubled by the fact that, despite the clear indictments contained in the Coroner’s verdict, no prosecutorial steps have been taken since July 11, 2025,”
the letter read in part.

The lawyer urged the Attorney-General to commence prosecution within 14 days, given the high sensitivity as well as the public interest surrounding the case.

Shittu further requested that if the state declines to act, the Attorney-General should grant his legal team a formal authorization to prosecute the matter on behalf of the state under the Administration of Criminal Justice Law of Lagos State.

Naira Hits ₦1,455, Records Strongest 2025 Performance Against Dollar

The Naira appreciated on the official foreign exchange market, closing at ₦1,455.23 per dollar — a 1.36% gain from the ₦1,475.34 recorded on September 30.

This is the first time since May 2024 that the exchange rate has dipped into the ₦1,400 range, highlighting the currency’s strongest performance so far this year.

The Central Bank of Nigeria’s (CBN) adoption of the electronic foreign exchange matching system (EFEMS) in December 2024 has played a key role in this improvement.

When EFEMS was launched, the naira was trading at ₦1,660 per dollar on the official market, making the current rate a significant gain.

In the parallel market, the naira also appreciated, closing at ₦1,480 per dollar compared to ₦1,485 at the end of September. This marks the best parallel market rate recorded this year.

President Bola Tinubu, in his Independence Day address on October 1, highlighted the currency’s regained stability after a turbulent period in 2023 and 2024.

He noted, “The naira has stabilised from the turbulence and volatility witnessed in 2023 and 2024. The gap between the official rate and the unofficial market has reduced substantially, following FX reforms and fresh capital and remittance inflows.”

Adding to the optimism, Abdul Samad Rabiu, chairman of BUA Group, forecasted on September 25 that the naira could strengthen further to between ₦1,300 and ₦1,400 per dollar by the end of the year.
