I’ve Not Received Child Support From Her Father, But Our Child Knows No Lack – Davido’s Babymama, Sophia Momodu Speaks

Sophia Momodu, the mother of Davido’s daughter Imade, has addressed claims that she prevented their child from celebrating with her father and his family.

Recall that the Adelekes had a family wedding over the weekend in the United States.

While Davido’s second daughter, Hailey, was present at the family wedding, Imade was absent.

The development sparked mixed reactions online, with some netizens storming Sophia’s social media page, accusing her of preventing Imade from associating with her father’s family members.

In reponse, Sophia in a statement via Instagram on Wednesday, said she woke up to see the attacks on her and her daughter after the wedding.

She stated that Imade is a healthy and happy child, and those who have seen her can attest to it.

Sophia stated that she has been Imade’s primary caregiver for the past five years and has covered all her expenses except her school fees, which her paternal grandparents have graciously covered for the past 3 years.

According to her, Davido has not paid any child support, but their daughter does not lack anything.

Sophia Momodu said she has, over time, ensured that Imade has a good relationship with her father and has never denied him access to her, adding that she prioritises her daughter’s safety and structured schedules for any meetings with her father.

Government Could Not Rescue Kebbi Schoolgirls, They Negotiated With Us – Bandits Boasts In New Video

A newly released video has suggested that the Nigerian government and the bandits who kidnapped the Kebbi schoolgirls reached a negotiated agreement prior to the girls’ release.

Earlier, 626Blaze reported that some  kidnapped students of Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi State, were released on Tuesday with the government claiming that no ransom was paid before their release.

But a video has surfaced online revealing that the government had negotiated with the abductors before the girls were set free.

In the clip shared by @AM_Saleeem on X, one of the armed men is heard questioning the schoolgirls about military aircraft that flew over the forest during their captivity.

He asks how many jets passed above them, and the girls respond, “uncountable.”

The kidnapper then boasts that the authorities could not rescue the students by force and had to negotiate. The abductors also asked the girls about their condition in captivity.

“Did we leave you hungry?” one bandit asked.

“No,” the girls replied.

“Were you assaulted in any way?” he asked again.

“No,” they answered.

Another kidnapper told them, “We will take you back home safe to your parents, we are doing this based on peace deals.”

He also mocked the government again, asking, “How many helicopters did you see hover around?” The students replied that they could not count them.

At the end of the video, one of the abductors declared, “We are letting you go after negotiations. Your government cannot rescue you with might. Your government has failed.”

The footage appeared shortly after Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, announced that all abducted students had been freed.

The girls, who were kidnapped after armed men stormed their school and killed the vice-principal, were later seen smiling inside a bus as officials prepared to transport them to Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

Authorities have said the students will be handed over to their parents today (Wednesday).

Late Nigerian Singer, Mohbad’s Widow Files Legal Notice To Block Unauthorized Claims To Musician’s Estate

Omowunmi Cynthia Aloba, the widow of the late Afrobeats star Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has initiated legal action to block any unauthorized claims or control over the singer’s estate.

Aloba filed a formal notice at the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja, urging the Probate Registry to reject any application for Letters of Administration not submitted by the lawful beneficiaries.

According to a letter dated November 19, 2025 and submitted by the law firm Salawu, Akingbolu & Co., Mohbad’s widow confirmed that she had filed Form 5 and Form 6, both of which legally bar the issuance of Letters of Administration to any party other than those recognised by law.

The correspondence, signed by I. P. Awo (Esq.), further identifies Omowunmi as the legal wife of the deceased and the mother of his only surviving child, Master Liam Aloba.

She explained that public announcements supporting the legal move were placed in two national newspapers in November 2025, warning against any: “Surreptitious or fraudulent attempts to claim the estate without proper legal process.”

Her legal team stressed that the notice already sits in court records and remains binding until the estate is duly and lawfully administered.

They added that no irregular attempt to bypass the legal process would be entertained, especially: “Given that the deceased’s lawful wife and son are still alive.”

The move comes amid ongoing public interest in the late singer’s estate, following controversies surrounding his death and family disputes over his assets.
