Afrobeats superstar Davido has expressed confidence that a joint tour with fellow singer Wizkid would sell out venues across the world, saying he would charge $500,000 per show.
However, he admitted that he was uncertain whether a collaborative song between them would become a hit, citing the collaboration between D’banj and 2Baba as an example.
The singer also disclosed that he and Wizkid had not recorded a song together in about 10 years, insisting that their inability to collaborate was not because they could not work together.
According to Davido, he and Wizkid had simply not been in the same mental space, while acknowledging differing opinions about whether their rivalry had contributed to their individual success or whether working together would further boost their careers.
“If Wizkid and I do a song together, I don’t know if it will pop because when D’banj and 2Baba did a record together, it didn’t really pop
If we tour together, I’ll ask for $500,000 per show because I know every venue will sell out.”
He also spoke about the importance of maturity in resolving disagreements, noting that it takes maturity for someone to acknowledge when their feelings towards another person have changed.
“I felt that way at some point but not anymore, and it takes a great man to do that,” he said.
