After flinging a champagne bottle at two strip club workers and accusing one of them of having an affair with her husband Offset, Cardi B has agreed to a plea agreement that would save her any jail time.
In court on Thursday, the rapper, whose actual name is Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, pleaded guilty to misdemeanor charges of third-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
Instead of the prison term she would have received under the original felony charges stemming from a savage assault on two female bartenders at Angels strip club in the NYC borough in 2018, the bargain carries a penalty of 15 days of community service.
The unexpected plea agreement, which was reached the day before the trial’s jury selection was to start, would spare the Grammy-winning artist from giving potentially humiliating evidence in court.
Cardi B showed up at Queens Supreme Court in a form-fitting white dress and white heels to enter her plea of not guilty. As she walked out of the courthouse, she said to reporters, “I feel like I look good.”
