The 22 year old Nigerian international goalie continues his good progression in recent years as Premier league team Watford snaps him up for €6 million (£5.1million) from Eredvise side Sparta Rotherdam.
Watford announced they have signed Maduka Okoye on a five and half years deal on their website but the young goalkeeper will stay on loan with the Eredvise side for the rest of the season.
“Watford FC is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement to sign highly-rated young goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, on a five-and-a-half year deal that will begin on January 1, 2022. The Nigeria international joins the Hornets for an undisclosed fee from Eredivisie outfit Sparta Rotterdam, to where he will return on loan until the end of the 2021/22 campaign,” the statement partly read.
Maduka Okoye reveled he cant wait to join the team permanently and get started, he also wished them all the best for the season in a post shared on social media.
