BREAKING: Ruben Amorim Has Been Sacked As Manchester Utd Manager

Manchester United have dismissed Ruben Amorim from his role as manager.

This follows Amorim’s comments after their 1-1 draw with Leeds United on Sunday.

The Portuguese had criticized United’s heirarchy, asking them to “do their jobs” in a feisty press conference.

The 40-year-old leaves the role at Old Trafford after a topsy-turvy 14 months at the club.

United currently sit in sixth place after 20 league fixtures.

Brentford 3-1 Man United: Fernandes penalty miss costly as Red Devils slump after Chelsea win

Manchester United failed once again to secure back-to-back Premier League victories after falling 3-1 to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium.

Bruno Fernandes’ missed penalty in the second half proved crucial as Ruben Amorim’s side slipped back into old habits just a week after defeating Chelsea.

United’s barren run of consecutive league wins now stretches back to May 2024.

Brentford capitalise on United’s frailties

Brentford’s Benjamin Sesko finally opened his account after earlier misses. Harry Maguire’s failed attempt to play Igor Thiago offside gifted the hosts their opener before Thiago struck again on 20 minutes, pouncing after Altay Bayindir parried into his path.

Mathias Jensen sealed the win in added time, leaving United’s defence and midfield exposed.

Despite Bayindir producing several key saves, United’s lack of urgency and poor pressing left them under constant pressure.

Fernandes and Dalot show frustration

Fernandes cut a frustrated figure throughout the game, arguing with teammates and officials.

He was booked for a rash challenge on Dango Ouattara after protesting referee Craig Pawson’s decisions.

Diogo Dalot, back from injury, endured a torrid afternoon, repeatedly beaten for pace and misplacing key passes.

His lapse of concentration contributed to Brentford’s dominance on the flanks, with United supporters voicing their anger from the stands.

Amorim under pressure again

Manager Ruben Amorim stuck to his 3-4-2-1 system despite United struggling for attacking fluency.

Mason Mount was deployed out wide, but the tactical shift failed to change the flow of the game.

Manchester United 3-2 Burnley: Fernandes scores late penalty to ease pressure on Amorim

Manchester United secured their first win of the Premier League season with a dramatic 3-2 victory over Burnley at Old Trafford, courtesy of a Bruno Fernandes penalty deep into stoppage time.

United, under pressure after a poor start to the campaign, took the lead in the 29th minute.

Casemiro’s header from a Fernandes free-kick rebounded off Josh Cullen and crossed the line despite goalkeeper Martin Dubravka’s attempt to clear.

However, Burnley equalised through Lyle Foster, who converted Jens Larsen’s cross midway through the second half.

United responded almost immediately, with Diogo Dalot setting up Bryan Mbeumo for a close-range finish to restore the lead.

The visitors refused to fade, and substitute Jaidon Anthony levelled again after Kobbie Mainoo deflected his shot past goalkeeper Altay Bayindir.

Burnley looked set to claim a point until a late VAR intervention awarded United a penalty for Antony’s shirt pulling on Amad Diallo.

Fernandes, who missed from the spot last week, held his nerve in the 97th minute to seal the victory.

The result provides relief for manager Ruben Amorim, whose side had endured a difficult run, including a midweek Carabao Cup exit.

Carabao Cup: Why I Didn’t Watch Man Utd Penalties Against Grimsby Town – Amorim Opens Up

Manchester United manager Ruben Amorim has explained why he chose not to watch the team’s penalty shootout against Grimsby Town on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils were eliminated from the Carabao Cup second round by the League Two side.

After 90 minutes, the scores were level at 2-2, after Bryan Mbeumo and Harry Maguire scored in the second half to equalize for Amorim’s men.

A marathon shootout eventually saw the Mariners advance to the third round.

Overall, 26 penalties were taken over the course of a shootout, but Amorim appeared to have little interest in watching.

When asked about his apparent lack of interest, Amorim said: “The penalty shootout is not important.

“If I’m there trying to see if we win the game… it doesn’t matter.

“The signs, the beginning of the game, during the game, that is what matters.”
