Streamers Make More Money Than Artistes – American Rapper, DDG Claims (Video)

Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., the American rapper and streamer, who is popularly known as DDG, has revealed which of his two careers is more financially rewarding.

Speaking in a recent livestream with Nigerian streamer, Carterefe, the American star claimed that streamers make more money than musicians.

“Streaming pays more than music. For real, streamers make more money than artistes,”he claimed.

DDG began his music career professionally in 2016. He gained prominence with the hit single ‘Givenchy,’ off his debut EP, Take Me Serious released in 2017.

The 28-year-old started his streaming career in 2014.

He later dropped out of Central Michigan University to focus on his YouTube career.

Nigeria Is Not As Dangerous As The USA – American Rapper DDG Says (Video)

Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., the American rapper, who is popularly known as DDG, has criticized Western media coverage of Nigeria, calling it “fake.”

The hip-hop star, who is currently holidaying in Lagos, said contrary to Western propaganda, Nigeria is “nowhere near” as dangerous as the United States.

He urged foreigners to visit Nigeria to see things for themselves.

Speaking in a video broadcast, DDG said, “I honestly think America is the most dangerous country. I don’t think Nigeria is as dangerous as America – nowhere near.

“No doubt, there is insecurity in Nigeria. But gun violence and gangsterism is not common in Nigeria as in America. So, if anybody is thinking about coming to Nigeria, pull up.”

DDG also revealed that he was told that Nigerian foods were unhealthy and was advised to always boil water before drinking in Nigeria.

He said that contrary to the propaganda against Nigerian foods, he found them very healthy, especially jollof.

Why I Want To Relocate To Lagos – American Rapper, DDG

American rapper Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., better known as DDG, has announced plans to relocate to Lagos, Nigeria, amid his ongoing custody battle with ex-girlfriend Halle Bailey over their 17-month-old son, Halo.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), DDG wrote,“I’m so tired of living in LA.

“I can’t wait til I move to Lagos, Nigeria.”

The rapper had earlier hinted in January 2025 that he was considering leaving the US for either London or Lagos, citing dissatisfaction with life in America.

The custody battle between DDG and Bailey has been highly publicised, with Bailey previously alleging physical and emotional abuse and obtaining a temporary restraining order against DDG.
