Nigerian Singer, Candy Bleakz Gets Attacked, Robbed In South Africa

Akiode Blessing Mariam, the Nigerian singer, who is widely known as Candy Bleakz, has been violently attacked and robbed in South Africa, leaving her injured and deeply shaken.

The 26-year-old, shared videos on Thursday on her Instagram page showing blood on her mouth and clear signs of distress as she tried to explain what happened.

The incident, according to her, took place outside her apartment while she stepped out to drink coffee.

She said a group of unknown men walked up to her, beat her and escaped with her gold jewellery said to be worth about N10 million.

She later shared another clip on Snapchat where she appeared in pain as she nursed bruises from the assault.

“Officer why did you let them rob me like this? Why? You were there. You let them go”,
she said.

Candy Bleakz, known for her lively style and fast rise in the music scene, is now receiving support from fans and colleagues who have expressed worry over her condition.

This incident comes months after Mavin Records’ DJ Big N survived an attack in Johannesburg.

He was shot in the leg by six armed men who stopped him in traffic and took his jewellery.

He later explained that the bullet almost touched a major artery before he received treatment.

Nigerian Female Artistes Don’t Support Themselves – Candy Bleakz

Nigerian singer, Candy Bleakz, has slammed her female colleagues.
She stated that female musicians in Nigeria don’t support each other.
According to her, no female Nigerian artiste can boast of helping another female artiste.
The ‘Wole’ crooner was featured on the latest episode of ‘The Honest Bunch’ podcast co-hosted by actor, Chinedu Ani Emmanuel, aka Nedu.
“There’s no female artiste in Nigeria right now that you can say has helped bring out another female artiste,” she claimed.
She also spoke about her tomboyish nature and how efforts by her mum to change her failed.
“I’m a tomboy naturally. I’m not doing it for music promotion. My mum had tried to change me but she couldn’t,” Bleakz said.

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Candy Bleakz, has cried out over the disappearance of her money from her bank account.

The singer made this known in a post shared on X while calling out the bank to look into it.

Lamenting her ordeal, the singer said everything she had worked for the past eight years was gone.

She wrote, “Why me? I just want everyone to be fine. I just lost my everything, everything 8years of hustle my God why me? My dad, my mum and now ME!!! @wemabank please I need help. Have lost my everything. I can’t breathe. I want to be a better person and not come online but am dying. No I can’t be endure I can’t live, I can’t breathe. I need help.”

Why I Ran From Home At 16 – Singer, Candy Bleakz

Blessing Mariam Akiode, the fast rising singer, who is also known as Candy Bleakz has made some revelations about herself.

She revealed the promise she made to herself at 16 after she ran away from home.

She said she made a promise never to return until she became a millionaire.

The Chocolate City signee disclosed this while featuring on Channels TV’s programme, Rubbin’ Minds hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.

She said: “While leaving home, I left with a mindset that, ‘I’m leaving home to feed home.’ And I didn’t want to go back home except I’m going home with the big bags. So, I do communicate with my familybut I did not want to go home.

“Because you that left home for long time, for you to go back home, the siblings are there, the family, what people think, what people are seeing online; they think this person has trillions in your account. So, to go come home, I really had to like have enough bags of money. But I have been communicating.”

Candy Bleakz said she recently reunited with her family.

The ‘Wale’ crooner said her parents are proud of her and the profession she has chosen.

She said they didn’t know she was a singer until she hit the spotlight.
