The release of popular Nigerian crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky, from prison custody has been reportedly extended after fans anticipated that he would be home on Monday, July 29.
The socialite’s release has been delayed due to an alleged miscalculation.
Recall that the crossdresser was sentenced to six months in prison on April 12, 2024, after he pleaded guilty to Naira abuse.
Fans eagerly awaited his release, only to be met with disappointment as new information surfaced.
Content creator and social commentator, Tosin Silverdam reported that a miscalculation led to a reassessment of the release date.
Silverdam revealed that Bobrisky’s team, who arrived to pick him up from prison, were informed of the error and that the new release date has been set for Monday, August 5, 2024.

It would be recalled that some months ago, the socialite pleaded guilty to Naira mutilation, a crime that landed him six months in jail.
In a recent development, fans counting down to the end of his jail time flooded his comment section to express their anticipation for his release.
A fan identified as Elle Badoo on TikTok shared her excitement in a video, stating how much she missed the shenanigans and trendy updates from Bobrisky.
“Congratulations guys; Bobrisky is coming out today. We miss you on the street of social media. Mummy of Lagos, we cannot wait to see you,” she stated.
Popular actress cum politician, Tonto Dikeh has reportedly settled her rift with embattled crossdresser, Bobrisky as they now follow each other on Instagram.
Recall that Tonto Dikeh and Bobrisky drifted apart after unreconcilable differences some years back and have been enemies since then.
Recall that during an interview with Toke Makinwa, the controversial crossdresser confessed that he regrets having a rift with Tonto and misses her friendship.
Bobrisky admitted that Tonto was always there for him, even at a time when nobody cared about him.

Popular Nigerian crossdresser, James Brown has announced a 3-day fast for his embattled colleague, Bobrisky who was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment without the option of fine for Naira abuse and mutilation.
He took to his Instagram page to announce this as an act of solidarity for Bobrisky.
It would be recalled that James Brown recently took to his Instagram page to pen a message of solidarity for Bobrisky who fell into the jaws of the law after being found guilty of naira abuse by the EFCC.
The fashionista and crossdresser has now declared that he would be going into fasting for his friend and colleague.
In a now-deleted post, James Brown wrote:
“I am going into 3 days praying and fasting my friend and colleagues.”

Ex-BBNaija housemate and podcast host, Tolani Baj has opened up on why she loves crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky.

The reality star spoke in the teaser of the upcoming episode of the Bahd and Boujee Podcast, co-hosted by her and actress Moet Abebe.

Bobrisky, a self-proclaimed transwoman, admitted to being a man in court on Friday during his sentence for naira abuse and mutilation.
Popular activist, Verydarkman has revealed what it took him to have Bobrisky arrested.
According to him, he intentionally called out the police in order to get them to arrest him and the crossdresser, Bobrisky.
The controversial activist stated that all that had happened, including his arrest was all part of his grand plan to get Bobrisky arrested by the police.
Controversial crossdresser, Idris Okuneye aka Bobrisky will be today, arraigned before a Federal High Court sitting in Lagos by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, over naira mutilation and failure to declare his firm’s activities involving N180.7 million.
Bobrisky was arrested on Wednesday, April 3 and has been kept in a separate cell.
In the charge marked FHC/L/244c/2024 and filed on Thursday, April 4, the EFCC listed six counts against the defendant. In the first four counts, the defendant was accused of naira abuse. While the 5th and 6th counts accused him of offences connected with his company, Bob Express.
The six counts read in part;
“That you, Okuneye Idris Olanrewaju, on March 24, 2024, at Imax Circle Mall, Jakande, Lekki, whilst dancing during a social event tampered with the total sum of N400,000 notes by spraying the same.
“That you, Idris Okuneye, between July and August 2023 at Aja Junction, Ikorodu, whilst dancing during a social event tampered with the sum of N50,000, by spraying the same
“That you, Idris Okuneye, sometime in December 2023 at White Steve Event Hall, Ikeja, during a social event tampered with the sum of N20,000 by spraying same.
“That you, Idris Okuneye, sometime in 2022 at Event Hall, Oniru, Victory Island, within the jurisdiction of this court whilst dancing during a social event tampered with the sum of N20,000 by spraying same.”
The four counts were said to have contravened Section 21(1) of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Act, 2007.
Counts 5 and 6 read;
“That you, Idris Okuneye, trading under the name and style of Bob Express, between September 1, 2021 to April 4, 2024, in Lagos, failed to submit to the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering, a declaration of your activities of the said company within which period the total sum of N127,780,877.98 was paid into the company’s account number 2830002929, domiciled in Eco Bank Plc.
“That you, Idris Okuneye, trading under the name and style of Bob Express between September 1, 2021 to April 4, 2024, in Lagos, failed to submit to the Special Control Unit Against Money Laundering a declaration of your activities of the said company within which period the total sum of N53,000,000 was paid into the company’s account number 2830016041, domiciled in Eco Bank Plc.”
Both alleged offences contravened sections 6(1)(a), 19(1)(f) of the Money Laundering (Prevention and Prohibition) Act, 2022 and section 19 (2)(b) of the same Act.

Bobrisky, who was recently on the headlines for winning the Best Dressed Female in a movie premiere, bought a diamond wrist watch worth $15k (N19 million).
His dealer, identified as @g.aboki broke the news of the crossdresser’s latest acquisition on his Instagram page.
