According to the songstress, she decided to work with the superstars because she loves their sonic prowess.
“I didn’t put Asake and Seyi Vibez on my album because of their rivalry. I didn’t know about the rivalry between Asake and Seyi Vibez. I just love both of them as artists” Ayra explained.
“They were very quick with it. Asake, too, he sent me his verse in three days.”
Ayra Starr provided the insights, while featuring in an interview session on The Beat FM Lagos. She was asked whether her decision to work with both singers on her sophomore album, ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ was intentional because of their rivalry and the singer answered on the contrary.

Ayra Starr, the popular Nigerian singer, has made a new claim.
The superstar singer claimed she knew she was going to be a superstar at a tender age but confusion set in as to how that would happen.
She made this known during an interview with a renowned streaming platform, Spotify where she revealed how she knew from a tender age about becoming famous.
According to Ayra Starr, her mother stalled her music career until she graduated at 18, making it her first time in a studio.
The Grammy nominee further highlighted the phases of her life after she bagged fame following the breakthrough of her first album.
She said: “The year I turned 10, I knew I was going to be a superstar but I didn’t know how. The year I turned 16, I just wanted sing in my room; 18 was when I entered the studio for the first time, and I had just graduated from the university. I remember my mom said that the only time you can do music is when you can do music.
“I released my first album in 19, ’19 and Dangerous’ and it took the world by storm. At 20, I released Rush and it was my biggest song. The year I turned 21, I got nominated for Grammy; that was the beginning of living my life as the global African superstar.”
Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, the popular, Grammy-nominated Nigerian singer and songwriter, who is better known as Ayra Starr, has opened up about her struggle with writer’s block and how it affected her.
The ‘Rush’ crooner said she couldn’t write songs for about six months until she received the demo of her song ’21’ off her new album, ‘The Year I Turned 21,’ from a friend as a birthday present which opened her mind.
“I had told him that it has been so hard… I was having a writer’s block for six months. I couldn’t write about myself then he gave me the first version of the song in a demo as my birthday gift. Recording ’21’ was quite easy for me, I did it in one-take. I was even lying down with the mic in my hand.
“’21’ is special because it is what opened my mind to the rest of the album. With ’21’ I started to see myself again the way I wanted to see myself.”
MAVINS Records boss, Don Jazzy has taken to the X platform to appreciate Wizkid for endorsing the sophomore album of his signee, Ayra Starr.
The producer has now resolved any impression of a rift between them following their recent social media fallout.

After a fan alerted Wizkid to the post, he reacted by saying, “Lol, never chatting with anyone signed to an influencer. Next.”
He also retweeted two tweets suggesting that he referred to Mavin Records boss, Don Jazzy as an influencer.
Wizkid’s subtle shade at Don Jazzy sparked outrage on social media, with several celebrities including skit makers, Mr Macaroni and Nasboi and reality stars, Doyin and Tacha berating him for “disrespecting” the Mavin boss.
