The singer has now amassed 2 billion streams on Spotify.
The revelation was made by data aggregating platform, Kworb.
She reached the impressive milestone just months after the release of her highly-anticipated second album, The Year I Turned 21, which has already surpassed 500 million streams on Spotify.
The album, celebrated for its genre-bending sounds and introspective lyrics, has been a commercial and critical success, contributing significantly to her streaming numbers.

Nigerian singer, Ayra Starr has replied a male fan who begged to be her pet.
The exchange took place on Twitter.
It all started after the singer shared gorgeous photos on her X.
After seeing the photos, the fan pleaded to be her pet.
Sharing the photos, she wrote:
“Straight from my camera roll to your heart”.
Replying to her post, a male fan tweeted, “I want to be your pet”.
 
Ayra Starr responded, telling him to bark. She wrote, “Say woof?”.

I Have Never Been In Love – Ayra Starr

Nigerian singer/songwriter, Ayra Starr has revealed that she has never been in love.

In a recent talk with Dazed Magazine the “Woman Commando” crooner revealed that she would actually love to experience it.

Despite being called a “lover girl,” Ayra Starr, who appeared on the cover of the most recent issue of the British leisure magazine, said that she had never been in a committed relationship.

“I want to fall in love. I wrote ‘Lagos Love Story’ about what love would look like if I was. I am a lover girl deep in my heart, I’m just very strong headed about it. I actually have never been in love. I have been in certain situations – not situationships! – but I have never been in a fully committed relationship.”

“I’ve put myself out there and I’ve tried to see what’s there but I don’t think I’ve had the time. I’ve been working since I was 15, I was modelling, I was doing university, and now I’m on the road.

“It’s me just enjoying myself as a girl. I’m like, let me sing to a cute boy today and I’m looking around because I can – why not?”

Ayra Starr Set to Make Acting Debut

Afrobeats global sensation, Ayra Starr is set to make her acting debut.
The 22-year-old Grammy-nominated diva will be featuring in Prime Video’s original ‘Christmas In Lagos’.

The romantic comedy also stars Teniola A. Aladese, Shalom C. Obiago, Rayxia Ojo and Shaffy Bello, and Adekunle Gold.

It follows recently heartbroken Fiyin (Aladese), who’s convinced her best friend, Elo (Obiago), is the love of her life.
The movie was filmed in Lagos and directed by Jadesola Osiberu.
“For me, Ayra Starr represents what it means to be young and female and daring and brave and fearless – just being yourself. She was on the list from day one,” Osiberu told Variety.
Other musicians making cameos in the film include Wurld and Liya, while the soundtrack features songs from legendary musician, Sunny Ade, Afrobeats icons, Flavour and D’banj, and more.

Nigerian Afrobeats star, Ayra Starr was spotted with American singer, Rihanna in Barbados at the Crop Over Festival.

Photos from the carnival show both singers hanging out in the same carnival booth.

This comes just months after the two met at a Fenty Beauty show in London.

The Crop Over festival is a 3-month-long festival of Barbadian music, arts, food, culture, and more. Since its inception in 1974, it has become a yearly event aimed at attracting tourists to the island and keeping the local folk culture alive.

The festival usually kicks off in June and runs until the first Monday in August with a grand carnival parade known as Kadooment Day, considered the biggest Caribbean carnival.

People Are Hungry, Tired – Ayra Starr Laments

Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has called out the federal government.
She lamented that Nigerians are really suffering.
The ‘Bloody Samaritan’ hitmaker said she isn’t bothered because most of her critics are depressed and battling poverty.
She added that worrying about what people say about her is a waste of time.

Speaking in a recent interview with Dose Society, Starr said: “What matters less? I think opinions and people’s perceptions of you doesn’t [matter].

“Trust me, people are living their lives. Everybody is busy. People are hungry. Stop caring and stop thinking what people are thinking about you. People are hungry, tired. Life is hard. Just do you.
 
“Sometimes, you’re there overthinking, ‘what does this person think about me?’ Then, they’re just like, ‘what’s gonna happen today? Am I gonna make it home?’
 
“There’s a lot happening in the world, and if you spend your time thinking about what people think about you, you’re just gonna waste time. Do you, find yourself. Be confident in yourself. Don’t care about the outcome. Just do. Don’t be afraid to fail. Fail as many times as you want to but when you get it right, you’re going to be so proud of yourself.”

Oyinkansola Sarah Aderibigbe, the famous Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Ayra Starr, has expressed her admiration for her colleague, Rema.

She described him as her closest friend and “GOAT.”

The ‘Rush’ crooner explained that Rema inspires her so much.

Speaking in a recent interview with Munch Music, Starr said: “Out of all the famous people I know, who would I say is my closest friend? I would say somebody that keeps inspiring me. And he’s such a good friend of mine and a brother.

“I wouldn’t say mentor but he’s somebody that’s doing the same thing I’m doing but at the same time, he has been here before me. And he knows how to move and he keeps inspiring me. It’s Rema.

Nigerian pop star Ayra Starr has explained to her fans what a “sabi girl” is all about.
She spoke during an interview on MTV’s “Touching Base.”
Ayra Starr opened up about her life in the spotlight, her latest album “The Year I Turned 21” and the inspiration behind her music.
When asked about the essence of being a “sabi girl”, Ayra Starr defined it as embodying confidence, kindness, and intelligence.
She said: “To be a sabi girl is to be confident, kind, and smart. You have to have sense.”
However, Ayra Starr also shared the downsides of fame, revealing a recent encounter at the airport where she was asked for a selfie while her bag was being checked.
 
“My first reality check when I became famous was realising that there is no privacy, even when you want it to be private.
She added: “Something happened the other day, I was at the airport and they stopped me to check my bag and as they were checking one of the people there was like, ‘Can I take a selfie?’, and I looked at him with so much disappointment. I was like ‘Really? Sorry I just woke up’ and he was like ‘It doesn’t matter’ and I was like ‘please please please ‘ and he said ‘Why are you shouting Ayra Starr?’”
Despite the challenges, Ayra Starr said her 21st year has been a game-changer.
 
“The year I turned 21 was the year that I accepted that I’m just going to be me and I’m going to be audacious and I’m going to be that girl,” Ayra Starr said.
