Divine Ikubor, the Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Rema has continued making history.
The singer reacted after making history with the remix of his globally acclaimed smash hit song, ‘Calm Down’ which featured American singer, Selena Gomez.
He recorded a historical milestone with the song as it became the highest-charting African song on Billboard Hot 100, breaking Wizkid’s record.
Wizkid, formerly held the record for the highest-charting Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100 after his smash tune ‘Essence,’ which featured Tems and Canadian pop star Justin Bieber, peaked at No. 9 on the chart.
In the latest development, the official billboard chart Twitter account announced that the 22-year-old Jonzing / Mavin Records signee had broken Wizzy’s record in a chart for March 25th, 2023.
Rema’s “Calm Down”, ft. Selena Gomez, peaked at the No. 8 position, making it the highest-charting Nigerian song on the Billboard Hot 100 chart so far.
Reacting to the colossal feat which threw him into an emotional state, Rema stressed how hard he worked to get to this point while expressing gratitude to God and love to those who’ve always believed in him as well as to Gomez.
