Nigerian singer Zlatan Ibile has opened up about the challenges he faced with his parents while rising to fame in the music industry.

“My parents refused to live in the first house I bought in Lekki because they thought it was fraud money… I had to print my account statement to show them I am being honest,” Zlatan said.
Zlatan also revealed how strict his upbringing was, noting that even as an adult, his parents still enforced him to live with them.
He explained that they placed restrictions on his lifestyle, including curfews and personal choices, despite his growing success.
“They later told me that if they have to come, they will do a seven days prayers to confirm if it’s from God. When they finally agreed to move in, they gave me a condition that I would also live with them,” he added.
The revelation has sparked reactions online, with many relating to strict African parenting, while others praised his parents for trying to guide him despite his fame and wealth.
