Show Mercy, Grant Nnamdi Kanu Presidential Pardon — Nigerians In Germany Beg Tinubu

Ndi Igbo in Germany and Nigerians in the diaspora have appealed to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to show compassion by granting a presidential pardon to the convicted leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The appeal was made in a communiqué on Friday jointly signed by Benjamin Chinaka, National Coordinator, and Chinasa Ezeji, Secretary General.

The plea followed an emergency meeting of the association held on November 21, 2025, in Frankfurt, Germany, where members expressed deep concern over the reported life sentence handed down to Kanu by a Nigerian court.

The group warned that the judgment could deepen ethnic tensions and worsen the nation’s fragile political climate.

“Nigeria is currently grappling with serious security and socio-political challenges. At such a delicate time, this judgment may further widen divisions among ethnic groups and undermine democratic cohesion,”
the statement read.

“We respectfully appeal to His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, to exercise his constitutional prerogative of mercy and grant a presidential pardon to Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.”

NIG noted that many of Kanu’s long-standing grievances reflect the frustrations of ordinary Nigerians, particularly in the South-East, who feel economically disadvantaged, politically marginalized, and insecure within the current national structure.

The group urged President Tinubu to “take a magnanimous decision in the interest of national unity, peace, and stability,” adding that releasing Kanu could be a pivotal step toward rebuilding trust in the Nigerian project.

The appeal comes amid growing domestic and international calls for a reconciliatory approach in addressing separatist agitations and regional discontent in South-East Nigeria.

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court, had convicted Kanu and sentenced him to life imprisonment for terrorism-related offenses, after which he was transferred to the Sokoto Correctional Facility.

I Do Not Feel Anything During Kissing And Hugging Scenes – Actress Etinosa Idemudia Opens Up

Nollywood actress Etinosa Idemudia has stated that passionate kissing and hugging scenes in Nollywood are no different from any other type of movie scenes.

Etinosa made this known during an interview with Punch.

While speaking on the growing conversation about how intimacy scenes are handled in Nollywood, Etinosa stated that, as a professional actor, one should be able to enter a character and come out of it easily.

The thespian added that she does not feel anything during intimacy scenes.

She said, “Intimacy scenes in Nollywood are like any other scenes. Once the director says “cut,” everyone is normal.

“As a professional actor, you should be able to enter your character and come out of it easily. When you hear “action,” you perform. When you hear “cut,” you detach.

“Kissing and hugging passionately is a performative act. You can do it without thinking about it or feeling anything. That is where acting comes in. It is not registered in your mind as something erotic.

“Most times, I am thinking about whether the scene looks good enough on screen. It is more calculative than intimate.

“Even though it looks real, I do not feel anything during intimate scenes because it is a mind thing. When your mind is tuned to your job, you do not get carried away.”

I Can’t Be With A Man Who Won’t Take Good Care Of Me – Nkechi Blessing Recounts Encounter With UK-based Man (Video)

Nigerian actress, Nkechi Blessing has opened up about a recent dating experience that left her questioning the behavior of some men during early stages of dating.

The incident happened after she stopped chatting with a man who lives in the UK.

In a lengthy video on her Instagram page, she revealed that he reached out to ask why she went silent, not knowing she had just had a minor car accident that damaged two of her tyres.

When she told him about the situation, he only asked if she was fine and ended the chat with a short message. Nkechi said she felt his reply showed no real effort.

She said that a man who wants to build something serious should not ignore moments when he can show care.

According to her, she was not asking for help, but she expected him to show concern by at least offering support. She later fixed the tyres herself.

Hours after, he sent another message asking if she had resolved the issue, and she simply told him she already bought two new tyres.

She compared this with how a male friend in Abuja treated her.

She said she told him she had work in the city, and he immediately offered to cover her hotel arrangements.

When she tried to handle it on her own, he insisted on taking care of it. She described the gesture as an example of how a man who truly cares behaves.

Nkechi explained that she values her independence but also believes a man should show effort when it counts. She said it is not about depending on someone but about knowing the person is willing to act when needed.

The actress ended by saying she has no interest in dating a man who cannot show he is able to look after her.

She added that she is currently single and talking to more than one person.

Peter Obi Remains Labour Party Member – Datti Baba-Ahmed Says

Datti Baba-Ahmed, a former Labour Party vice-presidential candidate, stated on Friday that former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi has not left the party.

Speaking to journalists after the party’s National Executive Council meeting in Abuja, which was observed by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Baba-Ahmed dismissed reports suggesting that Obi had dumped the LP.

“To the best of our knowledge, our brother, His Excellency Peter Obi, is still a member of the Labour Party. Nothing has changed. If he were here now, I would have shifted my seat to the left for him,” he said.

Baba-Ahmed maintained that the party had survived its internal troubles, adding that the development signalled better days ahead.

He also described INEC’s attendance at the meeting as a major boost.

“The Labour Party has not reduced in any way. We have only increased in numbers. But with the submission of our leader, the National Secretary, we have gone through rough times, as is usual with political associations, and have emerged from it.

“The highlight and major turning point of this NEC meeting is the presence of INEC, which validates this sitting and justifies our presence here. As law-abiding citizens, we strictly go by what the law provides.

“This is a renewed drive for reconciliation, and I am here as a loyal party member to continue to open our arms to embrace new and existing members, to come back and reconcile with the party for the national assignment ahead of us,” he stated.

Commenting on rising insecurity in the country, the LP chieftain recalled that they had warned Nigerians that such outcomes were likely if they failed to elect the right leadership.

He said, “Only two days ago, a state of national emergency was declared in Nigeria. If you recall, we warned Nigeria and the world that this was likely to happen — and it is happening.

“Nigerians voted en masse for change, and something else happened. The result is what we saw two days ago: school abductions in hundreds, senior army officers killed publicly.

“These would never have happened if the Labour Party had formed the government of Nigeria.”

He added that the LP remained committed to workers’ welfare.

“It is the birthright of LP, among all political parties, to ensure decent and realistic living wages for all workers. This will play a key role from now until 2027 and beyond.”

Friday’s NEC meeting, chaired by National Chairman Julius Abure, was part of ongoing efforts to resolve the leadership tussle triggered by the controversial 2024 national convention in Nnewi, which split the party into rival camps backed by top figures, including Obi and Abia State Governor Alex Otti.
