WE MAY ALL BE RACISTS
When you hear the word “racism”, what comes to your mind? Inequality? Or white supremacy against blacks.

Police brutality may have become racism’s biggest weapon in recent years as a countless number of blacks are abused, harassed and killed by police men in the United States alone! While writing this price I watched with disbelief how a black reporter working with CNN,Omar Jimenez covering the protests that erupted after the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis was arrested with no clear explanation for his arrest while his white colleagues were left out after he clearly identified himself as a reporter.
What does this mean to us in a world purged by various vices such as rape and a raging pandemic. The colour of our skin still stands against us and has become a premise upon which we are judged. Racism in itself is a pandemic that has swept every part of the world, for being black doesn’t mean you can’t be racist.
Racism exists everywhere and in every way from the west to the Far East and corners of Africa.

How humanity got here is not a question I have an answer to, how we can move forward from this racism pandemic is what I’d like us to examine. How do you want to be treated when you get to the mall? How do you want the police to treat you regardless of the colour of your skin? The change starts from you, when you make a racist call on social media saying whites are foolish, you are being racist too! Doing what others do unto us makes us a bigger devil. We can’t win the war against racism by being racist ourselves, violence in all forms is also not a water that can quench this fire. The burning rage in our hearts from the years of abuse and harassment we have faced is one we can convert to a lot of good will. Let us show the world that humanity will be better if we all treat each other with respect without gender, colour or race bias.
