Former Super Eagles and Manchester United forward Odiom Igjalo has condemned the Nigerian government for the killings of unarmed protesters at Lekki Lagos state.
The protesters were allegedly killed at the toll gate Tuesday Night October 2020 after the Lagos state government declared a curfew.
Ighalo was visibly outraged at the Nigerian government for making the country a shame for the world to see by sending military men to kill unarmed protesters who are citizens of the country.
He went on vent his anger, saying: “Sending the military to the streets to kill unharmful protesters because they are protesting for their right is uncalled for.Today, 20th of October 2020, you will be remembered in history as the first government that sent the military to kill its citizens.”I’m ashamed of you guys, we tired of you guys and can’t take this anymore, he said.
Ighalo was an unused substitute as Manchester United PSG 2-1 at the Parc des Prince.
