Burna Boy performed African giant and Hallelujah on the historic virtual concert for a TOGETHER AT HOME SPECIAL on Saturday (April 18) while bringing attention to some of the measures that African citizens are taking to protect themselves and their community amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lady Gaga, who curated the line-up, called the event “a love letter to the world”. Proceeds generated from the concert will go to the Covid-19 Solidarity Response Fund for the WHO, but Lady Gaga made clear the show was not a fundraising telethon and would focus on entertainment and messages of solidarity.
The concert featured dozens of famous artists and bands from around the world, including the Rolling Stones, Paul McCartney, Stevie Wonder, Elton John, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Lizzo, Céline Dion, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, Camila Cabello, John Legend, LL Cool J, Sam Smith, and Shawn Mendes
After the show Global citizen together with Lady Gaga announced that $127.9 million has been raised in support of health care workers in the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
